Future of NRI-PMI
- The future of NRIs, especially the lower and middle class of skilled / semi-skilled / unskilled NRIs today appears to be bleak.
- Economic recession is taking its toll on companies in turn leading to retrenchment and loss of employment.
- Being away from India for years, after coming back, settling down in India and winning the confidence of local employers is a difficult task for any NRI.
- For professional NRIs, winning the confidence of their prospective clients in India also not an easy task.
- An NRI worker who worked abroad for so many years is returning to India after job loss, so far he has spent the best years of his life working abroad.
- After coming back to India, his experience abroad, especially Gulf experience, is not counted towards his employment opportunities in India in most of the cases.
- He is fighting hard for his survival and is forced to settle down for a job that is at variance with his abilities and experience or to engage in some small business which ends up mostly unsuccessful.
